About Mike From Daring Profits

Hi there! My name is Mike and I am the guy behind Daring Profits. It's been a long, long, crazy journey to get where I am today and I hope to tell you at least some of it here on this page so you can get to know me a little bit better.
Please note that this page is always a Work in Progress? and will change from time to time as I refine my story.
I first discovered the whole make money online? world in 2008 when I was disenchanted with my job. I work in accounting and I've pretty much always been bored with it. I was pushed into it in college and I just went with it because I was good at it. I wish the internet as we know it now was around back then! I think I saw one of those late night infomercials where the guys show you fancy houses, fast cars and piles of cash. I was intrigued!
I was really into podcasts (still am) and I found Internet Business Mastery I really liked what I learned from Jeremy and Jason and even travelled to Portland to a live event that they put on in 2010. Of course, I soon branched out and found other sources of information. Some of it good, some of it not so good.
I think the very first product I purchased was a course called Profit Praxis? by?Tim Godfrey. I found it through Yaro Starak' s website. I don't even remember what it involved but it had me signing up for domains, web hosting, memberships sites and other services. I was spending money like crazy and didn't really understand why. Somehow, I was able to set up a website with my affiliate link to sell Profit Praxis to other people.
And then the greatest thing happened?I made a sale! I think I earned around $30 for that sale but it was enough Mike From Maine to hook me on the idea of making money online. I never made another sale though and I let that site die off.
Then I found The Warrior Forum and I was like a kid in a candy store! I started buying WSOs left and right. Of course, I wasn't implementing any of the ideas that I was learning. I just really enjoyed reading the sales pages, getting sucked in by them and purchasing the products. I would then learn all about whatever it was teaching before moving on to something else. It was shiny object syndrome? at it's worst!
I did have a short period of success building BANS sites. Using this software called Build A Niche Store ? I created niche sites using?the ebay Partner Network. I got paid a commission for each visitor I sent to ebay. I had 10 - 20 sites up and running and I think my best month was around $500. It was awesome and I thought I was on my way to online riches!
Then Google pushed out an update that wiped out almost all the BANS sites on the internet in one fell swoop. Since these sites had very little actual content other than affiliate links to ebay, Google didn't think they were very useful. Now I understand that they were right, but man did it ever sting losing that income. I still made a bit of income off of Yahoo traffic but only about 10 - 20% of what it was during it's heyday?.
I kept going, buying into new products, learning all about it and then dumping it so I could move on to the next thing. Fast forward to 2011 and I just couldn't bear the thought of working through another tax season so I quit my job in November. My brilliant plan was to sell internet marketing services to local offline businesses. Then I fell into a really bad rut where I was frozen by analysis paralysis?. I never booked one single internet marketing gig in the entire time that I was unemployed?. Six months later I took a part-time accounting job that I'm still working at today.
I've spent close to $15,000 on internet marketing courses, software and website stuff? since 2008. I've tried just about every different way of making money that there is: SEO, Affiliate Marketing, CPA Marketing, Solo Ads, ebay, Amazon FBA, Clickbank, made my own products, did some Fiverr gigs, etc, etc. I've never found something that I really liked doing for long enough to see success.
Recently I've gone through a training course where the Law of Attraction was brought up. I've always been interested in the ideas behind it, but never really put it into action. One of the exercises involved really digging down deep into our minds to reveal what we truly wanted from our internet business.
That's when I came to the realization that my passion is in discovering new products or ideas and learning all about them. I get really bored while implementing those ideas though. Then during another brainstorming session I realized what it was that I really wanted to do!
I've started several podcasts in the past but I never had an idea good enough to keep my attention. I like the idea of sharing my thoughts and interests with the world, but just didn't have the right topic to see it through. My new idea is to create a podcast show centered around new products and the creators of those products.
I quickly learned that someone was already doing exactly that: Mike From Maine. It didn't take long to realize that he was well respected and his business was profitable. Taking what I learned from Tony Robbins, I intended to model my business after Mike's. I don't plan on copying him exactly, but the same basic idea as what he is doing.
As I was doing more research on how Mike operates his business I learned that he offers a training course teaching people how to do exactly what he does! I looked at this as a sign that I was on the right track. I quickly signed up for his training and was blown away by how good it was!?I no longer have to feel guilty for copying? his business - he taught me how to do it himself! I know?there's more than enough for everyone to share in the pie so I don't feel bad. I hope to make Mike proud of me as his student.
So my online business finally has a real focus: I help product creators?by promoting their offers to my audience and I help struggling online marketers by teaching them what I've learned and introducing them to products and services that they may not be aware of.
I feel so excited to have finally found my purpose! I hope you enjoy what I'm doing and if I can help you in any way please let me know
Daring Profits is where Mike Francis produces in-depth video reviews of the latest internet marketing products. A lot of product creators don't give you all the details that you need to make an informed purchase. I help fill in the gaps by showing you a little bit more of the product, let you know what to expect for One Time Offers and upsells and giving you a sneak peak at whatever I can without giving too much away.
I feel that this is a win-win-win situation. I help the product creators sell more by promoting their products - that's a WIN for them. I help consumers make a more informed decision about purchasing these products - that's another WIN. And if you purchase these products through my link, I earn a commission - that's a WIN for me!
